Just in case you're a tad bit curious about who this
"cathye person" might be, here are a few tidbits to let you know "more than
you ever wanted to know" about Cathye.
CATHYE WAS . . .
BORN: 40+ years ago (ok, ok - 40 +

years ago)(40 + 13 years <sigh>)(oh me, oh
my...it's now 40 + 14) (ackkkkkk...she turned
57 today...how in the world did that happen????)
in the very same town she's living in now in
Texas (but she did leave for
a few years)(pushing 59...just doesn't seem
possible!)
EDUCATION: under-grad - she majored in spades and 42 and Baptist Student
Union (with a few moments here and there focused on elementary education), and she thought
for sure she had completed her Master's in Carpooling when younger daughter got her
driver's license. But....apparently carpooling is never-ending when daughter
is driving a '78 vehicle. <sigh> (and I was kinda starting to like the idea of
not being quite so "needed.")('78
died...along came an '88 Bronco...may it rest in peace!...then in rode a
Ranger pickup...yeeeee hawwwww!...now Mom just has to fill the tank with
gas <smile>)(Dad has inherited the Ranger
and younger daughter is now deliriously happy with her used
Pathfinder.)(Pathfinder made it safely to
Seattle)
OCCUPATION: Cathye taught 2nd grade and 6th grade and then switched to
"domestic engineer" in 1979. Now she fiddles with designing web sites
(mostly her own <smile>) and creating photo montages. (Just
discovered a fantastic program for doing slideshows...ProShow Gold 2.5)(digital
photography is very addictive...I'm SURE I'll take the perfect picture any
day now! ... would anyone care to place orders???)
LANGUAGES: Cathye speaks two languages if you count Pig Latin! <S>
SPORTS: Ping Pong (Cathye's version)(does
watching high school volleyball count???)(How
about watching the Olympics from the comfort of my recliner???)
FUTURE PLANS: (this is assuming there actually is life after
children...which I shall soon find out since my
"baby" graduates in May and then heads off to
college...yikes!!!!!) - (update...there is
indeed life after kiddos...I have managed to finish a few of the items
listed below...but where the heck is all the spare time I was counting
on?????)(still looking for that illusive
spare time!!!)(no spare time yet...any day
now...any day!)
--finish Andrea's "baby's first Christmas" stocking (not
yet...don't even have a clue as to where it is these days...poor
mistreated second born)
--finish wall hanging started 19 years ago(nope...not
yet...I'd hate to rush into anything)
--pour a drink and actually get some of it (although this one will still be tricky since
Roy will still be around <S>)
--find the bottom of the laundry baskets (YES!!!!)
--resurrect crafts (how about taking up photography
<S>)
--dig pottery wheel and kiln out of storage (and
then take pottery wheel to live with younger daughter)
--learn more about this exasperating machine (I
have actually learned quite a lot...but I have also discovered that
"who you know" is much more important than "what you
know")(my laptop has hidden my Flash
Player!!!!)
--see a time when some room besides the bathroom seems to be the "family room"
(perhaps in my next lifetime)
--and probably sigh a lot because I miss the kiddos!(I
love them dearly...and love when they are home...but an empty nest isn't
all bad!)(have a granddog to occupy our time
these days...he's adorable...a long haired chihuahua)
